He offered you something else, but you were not interested. Kent approached me after dinner and said you returned the veal saying it was tough. You said "don't bother", I said no singing, just dessert. I came over after and told you to leave room for a special dessert for the occasion. Jeff talked to me, and we decided to replace him with another Server, Kent. My Server, Jeff approached your table immediately, and obviously there was a mis-understanding between you. She explained that it was your birthday, and you told me in no uncertain terms to not make a big deal about that. I was the one who seated you and your wife Sunny. The Manager you refer to is actually me, the Owner of Cibo. Again creating a welcoming atmosphere along with the five-star food and service.Dear Victor, I'm going to take the heat on this one. Dan the manager also introduced himself and we discussed topics from basketball to the restaurant industry. While I was dining, both bartenders would occasionally stop over and we would discuss our travels over the years. Lastly, the chocolate volcano cake exploded into a finale that left a nice finish for my palate. Good to the last drop as I literally mopped up what was left on my plate with the last piece of bread. My main course was a special, Chicken Rollatini, consisting of chicken breast, spinach and mozzarella cheese complimented by a light red sauce. Something so simple can make a difference as I usually have to request items at most restaurants. Bread was soft and tasty and the bar staff anticipated my every need by bringing oil and butter. My order was taken promptly yet I didn't feel rushed at all, The caesar salad was lightly dressed and romaine was very crisp. I had a three-course dinner tonight at Cibo and it was nothing short of incredible! I sat at the bar and was greeted right away by the friendly bar staff. I look forward to taking other out-of-town guests in the future! All in all, I agree with other reviewers that this is one of the best local restaurants in town. We were too full for dessert- so we opted just for coffee. (Next time, I must try the mushroom risotto that comes with their steak!) Our server recommended an Italian red wine for us, which was reasonably priced (for the bottle) and delightful! We really enjoyed it, and we were grateful for his knowledge of Italian wines- not my area of expertise. But, the steak selections looked delicious. My only wish is that they would have more varied beef choices- my mom was really hoping they had osso buco, and I was wishing for braised short ribs. All were amazing! The bread they bring to the table is also a nice bonus- served with butter, oil/vinegar, and an olive tapenade. For entrees, we ordered veal parmesan, lobster ravioli, and eggplant parmesan. We started with cocktails and one appetizer (beef carpaccio), plus salads. Our server was the perfect amount of attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. And we didn't have to wait at all for our table! We were seated right away. We could carry on a conversation without having to yell. Although my first impression was that it was almost too crowded- we were pleasantly surprised at the volume level at our booth. This place, for starters, is HOPPIN'! There was not an empty table or bar seat when we arrived. I visited Cibo on Friday evening with my mother and husband, and we had a great experience from start to finish! We made reservations about 24 hours in advance, so I was relieved that they had a spot for us.
